Play therapy For Children
Play therapy for children is a unique technique that understands children do not always have the language skills or social skills to express their emotions or deal with difficult situations. Play therapy builds on the normal communication style and learning process of a child so that he or she can begin the healing process.
Parent consult
Parents are a valuable and indispensable part of the therapy process. Therefore, our counselors conduct parent consultations on a regular basis. This is a full 50-minute session where parents get to meet with therapist to discuss behavioral, attitudinal or social problems their child is experiencing. Parents will be supported and encouraged throughout the process, with a goal of building up their own skill set to continue progress at home.
Individual therapy FOR TEENS AND ADULTS
Individual counseling allows an adult or teenager to work through challenging feelings, thoughts or situations in a safe, caring and confidential environment.
Animal Assisted Therapy
Clover is Teri’s male Austrailian Labradoodle . He has been certified as a therapy dog and a participant in animal assisted counseling. Animal-assisted counseling (AAC) is a goal-directed process in which a trained mental health practitioner and animal partner work together to help clients resolve mental health challenges using the therapeutic powers of human-animal interaction. Teri and Clover offer AAC services to children, teens, and adults.
Fees, Cancellations, and Insurance
The standard fee for counseling ranges from $135- $150 per 50 minute session unless otherwise agreed upon. I have the right to withhold further counseling if you do not financially meet the obligation of payment as cited above. As returned checks create an administrative cost, there will be a $15.00 fee for any returned check.
In the event you are unable to keep an appointment, 24 hour advance notice of your cancellation is required. Except for emergencies such as illness or an accident, you will be charged the full fee for a "no show" or for a cancellation without a 24 hour notice.
When a client is a minor, counseling fees are the responsibility of the parent/ parents or legal guardian. If minor attends session alone, payment must be sent with them or we must have a credit card on file.
I am an out-of-network provider and do not verify insurance coverage, file insurance claims nor receive insurance payments. I receive payment directly, but can provide appropriate documentation with the necessary coding in order for you to self-file with your insurance company for reimbursement. Clients are responsible for verifying their coverage and eligibility.
